YES, MIRACLES DO EXIST……. by SOE

I have heard a stories about the End of the world is December 21, 2012. There are alot of people going around saying that. Some may believe it and some may don’t. But would you believe a if I told you about a Miracle that happened early this week. This was all in the papers, tvs and internet. I have seen the evidences.

The day that the Typhoon Bopha was expected to hit Palau Islands. We all heard it. We watched it unfolds in our own computer and news live on TV. The news reported that it was gathering storms right outside of Palau will hit it on Sunday. When it came it was now categorized as Super Typhoon running full speed at 155 miles per hour building up more speed.

One of the Wise Old Man from Palau perfomed a Miracle that day. He is known in Palau Islands as the “Oar” (Oius). He had gift. He performed the Miracle. I was told that he went out to the sea three times to perform his rituals in calming the sea and tried to stir the Typhoon in other direction. The Typhoon was coming at a full force straight at Palau Islands. He put a brake on that speed. When it hit Palau on Monday instead of Sunday when it was supposed to. It wasn’t Super Typhoon anymore. Palau got damaged by it, but not much considering it is small island and flat. No life loss. The Wise Old man did SUCCEED.

korpha“It was headed right toward Palau,” said Derek Williams, a meteorologist for the U.S. National Weather Service in Guam. But at the last minute, “it just turned to the west and fortunately went south of them,” he said.

“When people stepped outside on Monday morning they were shocked to find Palau was still Palau.   We really expected Armageddon.  While most of the trees around the school’s baseball field had fallen, the school sustained no damage aside from the tennis court’s fence.” excerpt from..http://www.oceaniatv.net/2012/12/06/typhoon-bopha-a-personal-account-from-our-shelter/

The Typhoon Bopha barely left Palau Islands, when it got back to Super Typhoon Pablo and hit Philiphine Islands at a full force. There were lot of damages and victims.”
See the news. It is all over the news.

Here are some excerpts and links that will shed some light on my story.  Born and raised in Palau Islands (Rep. of Palau) I heard stories of this wise old man (Rubak). I knew and heard about his gift, but never actually seen or obeserved it.

But while,  I was gathering some informations on this Typhoon Bopha for my site in “Palau 2012″ in Facebook, I run into this amazing story.  I was trying to prepare my members who lived in Palau Islands and updating my people who are all over the world what is happening back home. Most of the informations and pictures that I posted seems to back up this amazing story. I am going to share of some of it here. Some are excerpts and links from http://www.goes.noaa.gov/guam satellites, excerpts from CNN articles, OTV news and comments from members in Facebook:

Here’s an interesting read:
“But, all of that is dwarfed by its most spectacular surprise – its last minute deviation from its intended target, the Republic of Palau. No theories to date justify Bopha’s mystifying jog to the west, which ultimately set this mammoth typhoon due south of Palau. Some claim it was a high-pressure system in Japan that drove Bopha just enough west to put Palau out of total ruination, but no meteorologists have confirmed this.
Many locals say it was auspicious and that they were confident from the start that Palau would escape devastation. According to local legend there is an elderly man in Kayangel, Palau’s most northern island, who uses a giant magical oar to ward off storms. This magical weather oar, so to speak, is featured on Kayangel’s State flag. History certainly supports the notion that Palau’s land and its people have been unusually blessed.”

“The air that now blankets Palau is warm, dry, still, and disturbingly ominous. Palau’s sky has reason to brood for in less than 24 hours Typhoon Bopha is predicted to make landfall on the tiny nation of the Republic of Palau with a near direct hit. This typhoon has been securing strength and intensity while at sea and is expected to be a monster typhoon with a violent entry.”

Here’s excerpt from CNN. By Jethro Mullen, CNN

“Palau, a tiny island nation roughly 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) east of Mindanao, had a close shave with Bopha earlier in the week as the typhoon churned past, catching some outlying parts of the archipelago.
“It was headed right toward Palau,” said Derek Williams, a meteorologist for the U.S. National Weather Service in Guam. But at the last minute, “it just turned to the west and fortunately went south of them,” he said.
“I really think they escaped the brunt of the storm,” Williams said in an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, noting that Palau doesn’t usually get hit by strong typhoons.”

Typhoon Bopha is gone.
M y name is Sally Erungel and I was born and raised in Republic of Palau aka Palau Islands. Everything that I am putting down here are all true and were witnessed by thousands of people.

A brief background story to understand why and how I believe the Rubak. (Rubak, is a Palauan word that means old man.)

Most of all, it is a story of wise old man (we call him Rubak) in Palau Islands that performed the Miracle in stopping the Typhoon Bopha from attacking us.

“In Palau, we have our own legends. Some we scoff, disbelieve, or lost in these modern times. When I was growing up in my islands, there wasn’t any landline phones, no cell phone, no televisions and no electricty. There were like one or three cars but they belonged to foreigners.

My grandpa did some weird stuff that I just took for granted. For instance, he knew when visitors are coming in ahead of time. He would tell us to get our house ready, some important people are coming in two days. And sure enough they would show up. Or he will tell my dad, don’t go fish, there is a storm coming. And he will tell you to the exact time, when it will hit. Or he will tell my uncles, it is not the right time to go fishing, you won’t get anything. If they insisted in going, no matter how abundant our water is filled with fish, they will come with nothing.

He was a quiet man, who always sits for hours by the door (favorite seat) leading into our kitchen. He doesn’t go out. Most people came and visited him.

We have indoor tiny lizards, spiders and little animals that are always around the house. He listened and paid attentions to them. He obeserved the weather, stars, moon and nature.

My dad told me, that was how my grandpa Erungel get his news from around him and outside world. He didn’t need televsions or phones to inform him what’s happening. He had his own information center around him.

old wive’s tale… maybe…
-”back home, when someone tells you that he hasn’t seen spiders around his house. that means, be prepared! there is a big storm coming his way.”

Now, here’s a little bit of history of the Old Wise Man (Rubak) that performed a Miracle that stopped Typhoon Bopha from coming at  full force.

The Wise Old man (Rubak) is from Kayangel one of the islands of Palau and located in the northermost part of Palau. If you look at the Kayangel Island flag below, you will see right in the middle of it, is an Oar. This is where the story comes from. When we first heard the news, it was supposed to hit Kayangel Island. People from NEMO in our Islands sent a warning to Kayangel to evacuate immediately. They didn’t even bother. They knew they had the Oius (oar). This was this old Rubak’s gift. He can steer the oar, anyway he wants to. And the very last minute, the Typhoon sifted and went the other way.
